PMU Pre-Care
Preparing for your permanent makeup appointment is crucial for achieving the beautiful, lasting results we both want. Following these guidelines carefully will ensure your safety, comfort, and the best possible outcome.
6 WEEKS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
Review Your Skincare: Discontinue use of all chemical exfoliating products on and around the treatment area. This includes Retinoids (Retin-A, Retinol), acid-based products (Glycolic, Salicylic, Lactic), and other brightening or acne-fighting agents. These products increase skin sensitivity and can lead to poor pigment retention.
Pause Growth Serums: Please stop using all eyebrow and eyelash growth serums. These can alter the skin and affect the final results of brow and eyeliner procedures.
2 WEEKS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
Avoid Injectables: Botox and fillers should be done at least 2 weeks before your appointment to ensure the treatment area is fully settled.
Finish Medications: Please complete any course of antibiotics or steroids at least 14 days prior to your service, as they can interfere with the healing process.
No Brow Tinting: Avoid tinting your eyebrows within this timeframe.
1 WEEK BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
Avoid Sun Exposure: Do not tan or have a sunburned face. Skin that is irritated or damaged cannot be tattooed.
For Eyeliner Clients: Lash extensions must be professionally removed before your appointment. You also cannot wear contact lenses during the procedure, so please bring eyeglasses with you.
For Brow Clients: We encourage you to have your brows professionally groomed beforehand, but please avoid all waxing, tweezing, or threading for at least 72 hours prior to your appointment to prevent skin irritation.
CRUCIAL for Lip Blush Clients: Your lips must be healthy and hydrated. Begin gently exfoliating and moisturizing your lips daily. If you have ever had a cold sore, you must contact your physician for an anti-viral medication (like Valtrex) to start taking a few days prior to your appointment. Failure to do so will likely trigger a breakout that will ruin the healed results.
48 HOURS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
Discontinue Blood Thinners: CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR FIRST. Avoid all blood-thinning medications and supplements, including Aspirin, Ibuprofen/Advil, Niacin, Vitamin E, and Fish Oil supplements. These increase bleeding during the procedure, which pushes pigment out of the skin and leads to poor results. (Consult your doctor before stopping any prescribed medication).
24 HOURS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
No Alcohol, Caffeine, or Exercise: Do not consume alcohol or caffeine (this includes coffee, tea, and decaf) or work out in the 24 hours before your procedure. These activities increase blood flow and will negatively impact your healed results.
THE DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT
Arrive with a Bare Face: Please arrive completely free of any makeup. Healthy, clean skin is the perfect canvas for beautiful permanent makeup

PMU Care Instructions
PMU Post-Care
The healing phase is just as important as the procedure itself for achieving beautiful results. For the next 10-14 days, please follow these "Golden Rules" carefully to ensure your new permanent makeup heals perfectly.
IMMEDIATE AFTERCARE: THE FIRST 10 DAYS
Cleanse & Protect
Gently Cleanse: (Here you would insert your specific cleaning instructions, e.g., "Gently blot the area with a damp cotton round...")
Apply Ointment: Use only the aftercare ointment provided. Apply a very thin, rice-grain-sized amount as instructed. This will protect the area and promote healthy healing.
Protect While You Sleep
Sleep on a fresh, clean pillowcase each night (satin or silk is best to prevent friction).
Avoid sleeping on your face to protect the delicate area from being rubbed or irritated.
Hands Off! The Most Important Rule
Do Not Pick, Scratch, or Peel. Your skin will naturally form a protective film or light scabs. Let this skin exfoliate on its own. Picking at it prematurely will pull the pigment out of your skin, causing patchy results and potential scarring.
Avoid All Moisture (Besides Your Ointment)
Avoid long, hot, steamy showers.
No swimming, hot tubs, saunas, or steam rooms.
Keep your face dry when cleansing your body.
Keep the Area Clean & Uncovered
Avoid applying any makeup or sunscreen directly on the healing area.
Do not receive any brow grooming services (waxing, tweezing) until the area is fully exfoliated (minimum 2 weeks).
GENERAL HEALING: FOR THE NEXT 4 WEEKS
Be Patient with the Healing Process
It is normal for the color to appear dark at first, then soften. The color may seem to disappear and then reappear as your skin heals. Trust the process!
Avoid Strenuous Activity
Avoid intense, sweaty exercise for one full week. The salt in sweat can fade the pigment.
Protect from the Sun
Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 4 weeks. After the area has healed, applying a daily SPF will protect your investment and prevent fading. Wear a hat when you are outdoors.
No Other Facial Treatments
Avoid all facials, chemical peels, laser treatments, and microdermabrasion for at least 4 weeks. Inform your aesthetician about your new permanent makeup at future appointments.
